Camp Mennoscah Marketing Team is looking for Camp Advocates in area churches. Advocates would help promote Camp in their churches and improve communication between churches and Camp. Please let LaVonne know if you would be interested in being PMC’s Advocate.
Don’t forget about our Wednesday Evening Gatherings. We will meet each Wednesday during Lent at 7 p.m., alternating between contemplative worship and Bible study. We will use the Mennonite “Good Ground” curriculum on Luke and Acts for the Bible study. Consider making this gathering part of your spiritual practice for the Lenten season. World Renowned Scholar on Religion and Ecology Mary Evelyn Tucker to Visit Lawrence in Conjunction with “Journey of the Universe” Film Screening – In a collaborative project between Kansas University and community groups, scholar Mary Evelyn Tucker will come to Lawrence this February for a series of talks and a screening of her film “Journey of the Universe.” This documentary exploring the human connection to Earth and the cosmos will be shown at Liberty Hall on Wed/. Feb. 27th at 6:30, followed by a panel discussion featuring Tucker. The film is narrated by evolutionary philosopher Brian Swimme, and was produced by Tucker and her husband, John Grim. Tucker and Grim have joint appointments at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (FES) and Yale Divinity School, where they teach cross-disciplinary courses and also direct the Forum on Religion and Ecology.

The Music and Worship Task Force of the Western District Conference is sponsoring a Women’s Choir Festival on Sun., Mar. 3 at First Mennonite Church, Newton. The Festival clinician will be Doris Prater, Choral Director for Maize High School. There will be a rehearsal from 2:30-5:00 on Sunday, March 3, followed by a fellowship meal, then the Festival service at 6:30. Seeking Certain Someones! Camp Mennoscah is looking for those certain someones who are great with kids, fun-lovin’ folks, and looking to work at a camp for the summer. We’re seeking summer staffers! The positions available are crafts leader, music leader, office assistant, lifeguard, grounds/maintenance, and naturalist. If you know one of these someones, pat them on the back and direct them to www.campmennoscah.org to find the summer staff application under the Resources link. We SO want to talk to them.
Free Tee Shirt! It just doesn’t get better than a free camp tee-shirt. Camp Mennoscah has volunteer kitchen staff positions for the weeks of June 16-20, June 23-29, July 7-11, July 21-27, and July 28-Aug. 2. Kitchen staff need to be able to follow directions and enjoy the company of a variety of camp folks. A camper discount of up to full camp fees is available for kitchen volunteers. Hello, Nurse! We’ve got a few spaces left for some capable bandage appliers and sticker removers at Camp Mennoscah. Licensed nurses are needed for the camp weeks of June 16-20, July 7-11, and July 21-27. This position either receives a volunteer stipend or a camper discount of up to full camp fees.
